(Hong Kong, 31 January 2012) – PICO Far East Holdings Limited (“PICO” or the “Group”, SEHK: 0752), a global Total Brand Activation company announces today that the Group has won a contract to design, build and operate the Singapore Pavilion at the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea (Yeosu Expo”).
Appointed by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Pico will lead a multidisciplinary team to provide turnkey services to conceptualise and create the 712 sqm Singapore Pavilion. With the working theme “Paradox-ity: City of Contrasts (奇趣狮城, 巧妙对比)”, the pavilion will bring visitors on an inspiring and engaging multi-sensory journey depicting how a young coastal country, faced with a scarcity of natural resources, turned its adversities into advantages by rising up to its challenges creatively, to become a successful model for balancing nature conservation with city developments.

Prior to this contract, the group was also awarded a turnkey contract to design and create the Jeonbuk Pavilion located within the Host Country’s Local Government Pavilion as well as exhibition design and construction for the Yeosu Expo Marine Life Pavilion (Aquarium). Pico’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Korea has also been appointed as one of the "Registered Installation Companies" for International Pavilions taking part in the exposition.
Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will attract an expected eight million visitors and more than one hundred participating countries to showcase mankind’s diverse connection with the seas and coasts. For 93 days, its theme “The Living Ocean and Coast: Diversity of Resources and Sustainable Activities” will emerge as the global community’s platform to explore cross-cultural dialogue and the sharing of visions and aspirations on topics that are vital to mankind.
