(Hong Kong, 5 October 2011) – PICO Far East Holdings Limited (“PICO” or the “Group”, SEHK: 0752), a global Total Brand Activation company announced that the Group is awarded a turnkey contract to design and create the Jeonbuk Pavilion at Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea (“Yeosu Expo”). Under the contract, Pico will also extend its professional operation and facility management for the pavilion throughout the period of the Yeosu Expo.
The Jeonbuk Pavilion is located within the Host Country’s Local Government Pavilion which covers a total area of 5300 sq. m. The architectural design of the pavilion and the exhibit will reflect the characteristics of each individual local government in harmony with the Expo theme – “The Living Ocean and Coast”.
The Jeonbuk Pavilion is themed “Osaek Bojagi”, meaning the colorful traditional cloth symbolising different identities of Jeonbuk. The Pavilion design will be a combination of Culture, Unexpected Scale and Relaxation. By using elements such as Bojagi, Fan and Daechongmaru, the space creates a “modern meets traditional Korean style” atmosphere. The interior is nothing but simple with the use of Jeonbuk’s symbols, knots and straight lines, enlarging visual space through different colors and shapes. The Pavilion is aiming to provide a relaxing place for visitors after having a long trip at the Expo.
As early as 2010, Pico has been appointed as one of the “Registered Installation Companies” for International Pavilions of Yeosu Expo 2012. Spanning the earliest phases of participation strategies, through creative development, flawless implementation and meticulous operations, Pico's unique expertise is called upon to turn participating countries’ visions into unique realities.
The Jeonbuk Pavilion project is expected to be completed by November 2012.
Prior to winning this contract, Pico and its partner have already been appointed by the Organising Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea to handle exhibition design and construction for the Yeosu Expo Marine Life Pavilion (Aquarium).
