The Cambodia Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 has received the Silver Award for Theme Development in the Clusters Pavilion category from the Bureau International des Expositions for its innovative development of the Expo theme – ‘Feed the Planet, Energy for Life’.
Pico is proud to have designed, constructed and maintained the 250 sq. m. pavilion, which emphasised the importance of the country’s rice production and cultural heritage.
Awards are divided into three categories: architecture and landscape, contents and display, and theme development. An international jury, composed experts in the fields of World Expos, architecture and exhibitions, evaluated the participants' pavilions taking into consideration aspects of participation, such as the architecture of the pavilion, innovation in design and exhibits, the messages, the flow of circulation and the environmental solutions proposed, all related to the Expo theme.
Expo Milano 2015 was Pico’s ninth World Expo in the past 30 years. The Cambodia Pavilion has become part of Pico’s continuously-expanding and award-winning World Expo portfolio, which now achieves almost 80 expo pavilions.
